General information

Plant Nursery

We grow and sell a very good selection of herbaceous plants here at our small plant nursery, many of which are propagated from the gardens.

Parking

Parking for cars and coaches is available close to the entrance to the gardens and is clearly signposted from Wykham Lane. For coaches please contact us in advance to check space and conditions.

Group visits

Group visits operate from May through to September Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), generally between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Rain and adverse conditions do not usually stop visits; therefore suitable clothing should be worn!

Group visit prices & payments

Two prices apply for groups visiting the gardens (prices are per person, please state preferred option on booking):

Option 1 (£20.00): Entrance to the gardens, guided tour with the head gardener or assistant head gardener and light refreshments (tea/ coffee and cake).
Guided visits incorporate most areas of the gardens and take approximately two hours to complete.

Option 2 (£15.00): Entrance to the gardens, brief introductory talk by a member of staff and light refreshments (tea/ coffee and biscuits).
Brief introductions consist of a 10 minute talk about the gardens, after which you are free to explore at your leisure.

Payments are taken on the day of your visit with no deposit required. We accept cash, cheque or bank transfer, & payment by card is available.

Group visit refreshments

Ploughmans lunches + a bottle of water are available as an extra for £10 per person (please let us know on booking if desired).

Please specify when booking if you would like refreshments (tea/coffee and ploughmans lunches) at the start or end of your visit.

Dogs

Visitors are requested not to bring dogs as they are not permitted (except guide dogs).

Accessibility

Around the gardens and particularly in the main walled garden there are a number of different landscape surfaces, sets of steps and steep pathways. Regrettably, this makes some areas of the garden difficult to access with devices such as wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Please remember that Broughton Grange is a private garden open to the public only on charitable open days, guided tours & seasonally on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

See our contact page for our address and direction.
